Happy Weekend Fam, with a heavy heart after seeing my hometown endure such a tragic event and knowing a few who were personally affected this past weekend. I want to bring forth some positive things that have happened this week. Take this weekend to spend some time in prayer for all those affected and as always, weekend well.
1. Vegas Strong
After the utterly horrific incident that occurred Sunday in Las Vegas all of America has mourned alongside those that have been affected. With the amount of sadness that has followed this event, it has been amazing to see the unity that has occurred among the city of Las Vegas; and the support that the rest of the country and Hollywood have provided. It would be impossible to attach all the campaigns and words that people have lent, but one that I would like to share is from Vegas native himself, Jimmy Kimmel, here.
2. Younger Now
Miley Cyrus recently released her sixth studio album titled “Younger Now”. The album seems like a throwback to old Miley, and is making me wonder if “normal” Miley is here to stay. The album features 11 tracks and has taken a step back to more mellow production, when compared to albums like bangerz. Catch Miley co hosting on Jimmy Fallon this whole week. Watch her playing a game with the cast of Riverdale, here.
3. October 3rd
On October 3rd… for those of you that don’t know, October 3rd has been dedicated to the classic teen film “Mean Girls”. This year however the cast decided to reunite for a better cause. They started a GoFundMe page in honor of those affected by the Las Vegas shooting and asked each fan to donate a simple $3 to help them reach their $300,000 goal. So far the campaign has raised around $74,000, to donate yourself go, here.
4. OJ a “Free Man”
As of earlier this week Mr. OJ Simpson is a free man and is already working on his short game at the green. For now OJ is living in a gated community in Las Vegas with hopes of eventually relocating to Florida. Simpson was spotted checking his first iphone and eating Mcdonald's after being release from jail. I’ll insert a little plug to go and watch one of my favorite Netflix series “The People V. OJ Simpson," watch the trailer, here.
It was announced just yesterday that America's best friend Netflix is raising their prices. Before you go running to cancel your subscription know that the raise is nothing too crazy. The standard plan will move from $9.99 to $10.99 and the $11.99 plan is moving to $13.99. Who knows maybe this raise will help them add more fan favorites to the streaming service or even pay for Stranger Things Season 3.
