Dust & Breath's Weekly Top 5

I hope you all missed me as much as I missed you, I took a little restful Spring Break hiatus but now I am back! Here to give you what I think are some interesting sites and spectacles from the internet this week:

1. Sports

Google: Lavar Ball. No, really, that’s it. In a short span of about 3-4 weeks, Lavar Ball, father of up and coming basketball savants Lonzo, LiAngelo and LaMelo Bal has taken center stage, and placed himself at the center of a number of controversial sports conversations, all with the use of his words.

Just Google, Lavar Ball, and see what comes up, if you want a more analytical analysis of Ball’s words and statements, search through ESPN or Fox Sports 1’s website. I promise you won’t be disappointed, here.

2. Websites

In reading an article about the 20 best “Waste Your Time” websites on the internet (right up my alley) I discovered two fun websites to explore.

xkcd: The website xkcd is a small site that features stick figure comic strips and humorously tackles several different topics like relationships and friendship, among other things. The guy who started this site also used to work for NASA, so you can pass it off as intellectually stimulating, here

Wait But Why: This article-based website is made for procrastinators like myself, it even features an article on procrastination, here. (Side note: I procrastinated while making this article. I am a mess of a being.)

3. Music

Hip Hop- Tupac Shakur Hall of Fame Induction: It was announced earlier this week that hip hop and rap music legend Tupac Shakur would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. As someone who has greatly enjoyed and valued his music I say this news is not only welcome but long overdue.

If you are curious as to who else is to be inducted, feel free to check out the page of the Rock & Roll HOF’s website, here.

4. YouTube

Honest Trailers/Honest Game Trailers: Are you a nostalgic individual? Do you miss the golden ages of cinema? Or do you enjoy the modern new releases? What about video games, are you a gamer?

If you have answered yes to any of these questions and also enjoy humor, satire and sarcasm, check out the Screen Junkies and Smosh Games channels on YouTube and two of their most popular video series, “Honest Trailers” and “Honest Game Trailers”.

These videos are essentially short but fiery synopses of films and video games, jam packed with clever jokes and references that will leave you screaming. (Screaming is my laughing volume).

These videos are incredibly clever and well made, here and here.
