Happy Friday Fam, keep up with 5 things that happened in the world of popular culture this week. Here's to the new year's resolutions that didn’t make it this far into the year.
1. Chicago West
The hype of the newest member of the Kardashian-West clan is still alive and well. Kim Kardashian took to her app to release the name of her and Kanye’s second daughter. The two decided to name her, Chicago West. Its safe to say that this was probably inspired by Kanye’s attachment to his hometown. The two decided they will call her chi (shy) for short, congrats to the power couple on their newest gift.
2. 2018 Oscar Nominations
The nominations for the 90th annual Oscar’s was released early Tuesday morning. The Academy President along with Andy Serkis and Tiffany Haddish revealed the nominees. “The Shape of Water” carried its strong awards streak and dominated the nominees list with 13 nominations. 3. Sundance Film Festival
Film buffs, Indie movie lovers, and a handful of famous faces found themselves in Park City, Utah for the annual Sundance Film Festival. The festival features 110 Feature Length Films. Some of which get picked up and distributed by companies such as Netflix or HBO. Plenty of celebrities such as John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Emma Roberts, and A$AP Rocky showed up for screenings. 4. Styles. Harry Styles
While there have been a slew of names tossed around who could play the next James Bond, there’s one name that sticks out a little further than the rest. Earlier this week the editor of the franchise stated that Harry Styles could very well be the next Bond. With huge shoes to fill, it would be exciting to see a younger version portrayed. After Styles performance in Dunkirk it's fair to say that he would be a great contender for the role. However, there has been an argument on both sides for his potential contract. Where do you fall in this debate?
5. HelloGoodBye Netflix
With January quickly coming to an end it means it's time for all the streamers to mourn the loss of some Netflix titles, while getting the chance to look forward to bringing the added titles that February brings. Look over a full list of what's coming and going, here.
