Dust & Breath
Dust & Breath is a community of men pursuing a well-curated life. But not just any life, one inspired by the way of Jesus. We believe that following Jesus impacts our whole life, from “How to live well with roommates” to “How do I know when to propose?” all the way to “How do I grow deeper spiritually?” and everything in-between.
We believe that the journey you are on should not be one that you walk alone. We hope to provide the encouragement, brotherhood, and resources you need to win the day.
A Note from Our Founder
A few years ago my sister-in-law asked me a very simple question, in which I had a pretty sad answer. She asked if there were any resources that she could give to her son that could help him as he became a man. He was about to graduate high school and was struggling in the ways that all guys struggle. Racked with questions like "Who am I?", "How do I make decisions?", "What should I do with my life?", "How do I do relationships?" As I searched for something to give him, it became clear that sadly, there’s just not much out there.
Then I began to realize that I was just like him. I had those same questions. I needed those same resources. So many times I have woken up to face a demanding day and found myself whispering a prayer that sounds something like, “If I only had...”
This is such an exciting time to be a man. There are more resources than ever to help you curate the life you want. In the same way, it is such an exciting time to be a follower of Jesus! There are innovative conversations about what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and live in community and advance the Kingdom.
There is just not much out there for how to be a man as I follow Jesus. Like, in the same place.
Maybe, together, we can change that.
Why the name 'Dust & Breath?'
In Genesis 2v7 we learn something about what it means to be a man. When God created humanity he formed the dust of the earth and breathed into it his breath. This means that to be a man who is fully and truly alive means to live in the reality that you are the dust of the earth and at the same time, you carry the very breath of God himself. This reality should radically affect the way we live! That’s what we are here to explore.
